Zusammenfassung:	The invention is directed toward an osteoimplant for application to a bone defect site to promote new bone growth at the site which comprises a new bone growth inducing composition of demineralized allograft bone material mixed with an aqueous phosphate buffered gelatin which when lyophilized to remove water from the composition cross links the gelatin to form a solid structure.
