An attempt at ignition that is unsuccessful (ignition failure) is recorded and in the event the number of recorded attempts exceeds a predetermined value, the detector is placed in a shutdown mode. Power to the igniter (211) is provided according to a control signal from the computer (22) to an igniter circuit (115). The circuit (115) includes a power supply and a power converter for isolating the igniter from power supply deficiencies. |
