In a procedure for controlling a hydrostatic control unit of a hydrostatic-mechanical continuously variable power-branching gearbox, for any gear change, the displacer volume is changed until a given speed ratio of input to output shaft speed is obtained, whereafter a clutch Äk2,k3Ü for the new gear is engaged. Then the displacer volume is changed relative to a theoretical volume until the clutch of the still-running and previously-power-transmitting gear is unloaded, whereafter this is disengaged. During this phase, a clutch position signal is monitored to establish whether the disengagement has begun, and if this is the case, the displacer volume is kept constant until complete disengagement is indicated by the signal. |
