Zusammenfassung: | A sintered-foil electrode for nickel-cadmium batteries is made of nickel-plated sheet steel in the form of a perforated strip-type support material for nickel powder deposited on it and sintered to form a porous layer, electrochemically active mass being incorporated in the pores of this sintered body in the form of nickel hydroxide or cadmium hydroxide. In order to increase the effective surface and the adhesion of the coating to the support material and the resultant electrical performance and mechanical durability of the associated battery, the invention proposes that the support material is a cold- rolled low-carbon steel strip which supports a nickel layer having a thickness of 2 mu m to 6 mu m and an electrolytically or electrolessly deposited cobalt or cadmium layer having a thickness of 0.1 mu m to 3 mu m. |
