Heading A5E.[Also in Division C2] Fungicidal compositions comprise compounds of the formula wherein R represents hydrogen, a C 1-12 aliphatic hydrocarbon radical (optionally substituted by alkoxy, alkylmercapto and/or phenyl groups), a C 5-8 cycloalkyl radical or the group -COR', R' represents hydrogen, a C 1-17 aliphatic hydrocarbon radical (optionally substituted by halogen or alkoxy, alkylmercapto, aralkylmercapto, aryloxy, heterocyclic or aryl groups of which the latter may be substituted by halogen, alkyl, nitro, alkoxy, alkylmercapto, cyano and/or thiocyano groups) or an optionally substituted cycloalkyl group, Y represents halogen or a C 1-4 alkyl, C 1-4 alkoxy, C 1-4 alkylmercapto, haloalkyl and/or nitro group, X is O or S and n is O or an integer of 1-4, in admixture with a solid diluent or carrier or in admixture with a liquid diluent or carrier containing a surfactant. The compositions may take the form of solutions, emulsions, suspensions, powders, pastes or granulates and may be applied by spraying, dusting, watering or scattering on the substrate plants. The fungicides are particularly useful for the control of phytopathogenic fungi, e.g., those which attack apple plants. Examples relate to the preparation and use of aqueous emulsions.
