Zusammenfassung:	The vulcanization of rubber is retarded by adding an organic hydrogen sulphate or a salt thereof with a metal other than an alkali metal. In examples, zinc lauryl sulphate, zinc, calcium or aluminium, oleyl sulphate, or the zinc salt of the hydrogen sulphate of a commercial aliphatic secondary alcohol of the formula R.CH(OH)CH3, where R is an aliphatic chain having an average length of ten carbon atoms, is added to a mix consisting of natural rubber, carbon black, zinc oxide, stearic acid, softener, sulphur and mercaptobenzthiazole. From 0.8 to 2.0 parts of retarder per 100 parts of rubber are used.
