The invention concerns a yellow pigment characterised in that it has the following chemical analysis, in wt. % on the basis of 52.6 to 71.7 % of ZrO2, 21.6 to 38.8 % of SiO2, 3 to 6.4 % of Pr6O11, and 0.3 to 2.2 % of Y2O3. The invention is useful for colouring ceramic materials.
