Roll for high=pressure roll press

The roll for a high-pressure roll press incorporates a roll body (10) joined detachably to a shell (11) which together with an array of protruding bolts forms the outer circumference of the roll. The bolts (12,13) are housed in holes in the shell (11), and are supported at their radially inner ends on the roll body (10). With the shell detached from the roll body, these bolts can be removed and replaced by new ones from inside of the shell. The shell (11) takes the form of a closed tyre ring. Alternatively, it is made up of detachably clamped segments (17). The bolts (12) - whose heads (18) fit into corresponding depressions in the roll body (10) - are made of hard-alloy and/or ceramic materials.
