Zusammenfassung:A solar-powered generation plant has a tower where concentrated solar radiation warms a thermal medium (preferably atmospheric air) flowing through an absorber 10 made of metal mats. A flow channel 14 leads from the absorber to a heat consumer 16 and there is a controller 62,64 for the flow rate of the medium, depending on its temperature. A protective device 20 increases the flow through the absorber according to any irregular increase in radiation intensity. It is a radiation sensor that is sensitive in the visible or ultra violet region of the solar spectrum, such as a photo-transistor, photo-diode, photo-resistor or photovoltaic cell, and has no inherent time lag.
