Zusammenfassung:A light-interrupting film, formed on a transparent support for mfg. a colour filter, comprises grains having a lamellar lattice structure. The grains have a max. grain dia. of 3 microns or less, and an average grain dia. of 0.05-0.08 microns 40-95 wt.% of the grains have a grain dia. of less than 0.1 micron and the average aspect ratio of the grains is 10/l or more. A light-interrupting coating material comprises the above mentioned grains dispersed in a dispersant. Formation of the light-interrupting film comprises coating the surface with the light-interrupting coating from the coating material and removing the dispersant from the coating material.
