description | The scooping resistance during the reception of material and the part-emptying at the end of the scooping operation are to be substantially reduced by means of the invention. For this purpose, the buckets are guided via a deflecting device so as to run on the inside at least in the region of the material feed. The deflecting device consists of rotatably arranged discs, disc wheels or end discs of a profiled drum 1 which supports the bucket string 2 at the belt edges. During the deflection the buckets running on the inside when the bucket string 2 is deflected take up the bulk material fed into the space between the discs. The bulk material is subsequently conveyed steeply or vertically to a higher material-delivery point. In the region of the material-delivery point, the conveying buckets can be deflected so as to run on the inside or run on the outside. In the case of deflection with running on the outside, the emptying of the bucket takes place in a known way. The deflection with running on the inside is carried out in dependence on the properties of the bulk material and on the emptying forces by means of a pair of discs 6 or a throw-off stage 7 spanned by two pairs of discs 6. In the case of deflection with running on the inside, emptying takes place between the load side and the idle side. |
