The effluent gases are washed with aq. carbon suspensions to remove residual contaminants; and the slag is tapped off for building and road constructions. USE - The process allows poor quality coals contg. sulphur, minerals and much ash, etc., to be utilised in the combustions, and avoids environmental pollution.
