Zusammenfassung: | Process comprises bonding asbestos fibres (I) with structurally stabilised chrome shavings (II) with the aid of a filling binder (III). Also claimed is an appts. for the above process, including a known type of vacuum pump for fibres (I), a conventional defibrator for processing (II), a storage tank for (III) and a mixing tank for premixing these components udner vacuum, a mixer-reactor for completing the mixing process at variable temps. between 37-90 deg. C and at about 10 bar, pipelines and a slide feeder connecting mixer to premixer, and a valve through which the bonded mixt. is transferred directly to a conventional extruder for further composition and prodn. of extruded sections. USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables the recycling of asbestos to produce a new type of insulating and sound-proofing material for building applications, by means of a safe reprocessing system which also makes use of the large amts. of residual organic material, e.g. chrome shavings, produced in leather mfr. (ASCROF process). |
