Rotary vibration damper for IC engine - has viscous damping medium and flywheel has magnetic ring tracks for accurate centring
The damper has a flywheel mass floating in a closed chamber of an annular housing. One or more magnetic ring tracks (6, 7) are provided as an active connection in the housing (1) and in the flywheel mass (4) radially opposite relative to the axis of rotation (12). The facing surfaces of the ring tra...

Zusammenfassung: | The damper has a flywheel mass floating in a closed chamber of an annular housing. One or more magnetic ring tracks (6, 7) are provided as an active connection in the housing (1) and in the flywheel mass (4) radially opposite relative to the axis of rotation (12). The facing surfaces of the ring tracks deviate in the axial direction (8, 9; 10, 11) from the direction of the axis of rotation. Where there are two active connections, each with two magnetic ring tracks, the faces in the axial direction run parallel to each other. The direction of the faces in the axial direction of one connection deviates by a positive angle. The direction of the faces in the axial direction of the other connection deviates by a negative angle. USE - By altering the angular position or curvature of the faces in the axial direction it is possible to control the size ratio of the radial to axial force components so that the centring of the flywheel mass in the housing is improved. |
