Zusammenfassung: | The ignition lock is linked by a Bowden cable to the gear-shift mechanism to block the gear linkage in the park setting when the ignition key is removed. The interlocks prevent removal of the key unless the gearshift is moved to the park position. The blocking catch operates directly on the gear linkage, rather than on the gear-shift lever. The Bowden cable operates onto a sprung catch lever which drops into a recess in the gear-shift linkage. With the catch locking the linkage only a small limited movement is possible, too small to move into another gear setting. The vehicle is totally immobilised. ADVANTAGE - Fail-safe vehicle security; vehicle cannot be moved without refitting ignition key. |
