Zusammenfassung:Method for heating a regenerative coke-oven battery with blast-furnace gas as a lean gas, by using a rich gas. A non-available proportion of the blast-furnace gas is replaced by a synthetic lean gas, of about the same calorific value, produced from coke-oven gas (as the rich gas) and flue-gas from the coke-oven battery. Variants claimed outline methods for mixing and handling the gases, and the relevant battery arrangements. USE/ADVANTAGE - Drawbacks of other methods of heating regenerative coke-oven batteries are avoided, and the proposed method is more economical in operation and the plant is simpler. Other advantages include the smaller amt. of NOx produced.
