description The invention relates to a method and a device for turning garment parts in clothing manufacture, in particular when using sewing robot technology. In this case, the aim of the invention is to carry out the turning operation in an automatically proceeding sequence, the turning operation being carried out during the transportation from one workstation to the next and without inserting an additional workstation into the automatic processing of textile garment parts. According to the invention, this is achieved by a method, wherein gripper elements for gripping garment parts were set down by a relative movement in or counter to the horizontal transporting direction, preferably in the region of the leading or trailing edge of the garment part, and during the horizontal transportation, the relative movement causing the garment part to turn. Arranged on a horizontally movable frame are additional guiding elements which make a movement relative to the movement of the frame possible. By appropriate control signals, it is possible to apply the required relative movement to any desired garment parts in order to guarantee reliable turning. The method and the device are especially suitable for use of sewing robot technology in clothing manufacture (Fig. 1).
