description | The measuring device according to the invention for round profiles contains two "light source/photoreceiver" systems, which are arranged perpendicular to one another, between which the object to be measured is arranged, and downstream of whose measurement chambers (1, 1a) an electronic evaluation circuit is connected. In detail, the latter contains a diameter register (2), a subtraction circuit (3), an oval register (4), an extreme analyser (5), a logic circuit (6), a comparator circuit (7), a data input unit (8), a programmable clock circuit (9), a start controller (10), and OR circuit (11) and a signalling unit (12). The evaluation circuit is connected to a reversible stepping motor (13) which actuates a toothed wheel (14) which is meshed with a toothed rim (15) which is mounted capable of rotation by means of a bearing (16) which is fastened to a bracket (17) fastened to a support (18). Mounted on the toothed rim (15) are guide supports (19, 19a, 20, 20a) on which the corresponding light sources (21, 21a) and the measurement chambers (1, 1a) are fastened. The advantage of the measuring device according to the invention is precise measurement of the ovality of round profiles irrespective of their rotation about the movement axis during rolling. A further advantage of the invention is the simpler optomechanical construction. The device can be used to assess the quality of the finished product in terms of geometrical dimensions. |
