description | The present invention relates to devices for exciting mechanical force pulses, in particular elastic oscillations in the Earth's crust for the purposes of seismic prospecting. The generator (1) of seismic pulses contains an armature (2) and a stator (3) which are arranged coaxially relative to one another. The laminated cores (9) or (14) of the armature (2) or of the stator (3) have on their working surface grooves (10, 16) and projections (11, 17) positioned in an alternating series and of annular design. Coils of the excitation windings (12, 18) are embedded flush in the grooves (10, 16). The excitation windings (12, 18) of the armature (2) and of the stator (3) face one another. The generator (1) is fitted with devices (40, 41) for locking it in the horizontal and vertical planes. If the armature (2) is half as short as the stator (3), its excitation windings (12, 18) are arranged in groups (A, B). The number of the coils of each group of the stator (3) is equal to the number of the coils of the armature (2). An armature (2) of such design can execute a constrained to and fro movement, seismic transversal waves being generated. Intended use: seismic exploration to prospect for useful minerals and construction site investigations. |
