Zusammenfassung:	In a phase-gating controller (6) for resistance-welding systems which are supplied from an AC network (1), the maximum possible welding power in terms of operation is detected in that the welding-current flow duration (TJ) and the duration of a network voltage half cycle (TN/2) are compared with one another. As soon as the two values correspond to approximately 5%, an indicator (74) illuminates.
