Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to mechanical engineering, in particular methods of applying ceramic coatings by plasma-jet spraying. The invention proposes a method of applying ceramic coatings of increased thickness (over 0.2 mm) to a substrate by spraying the starting material in a gas-stabilised plasma jet. A coolant is supplied in amounts of 0.1 to 1000 g/min to the contact zone between the material to be sprayed and the substrate an the spraying is carried out with the following values of the principal data: arc current 250...700 A; arc voltage 65...300 V; consumption of plasma-forming gases 1...150 l/min; consumption of powdered spraying material 0.1...25 kg/h; relative displacement velocity of substrate and plasma jet 0.5...50 m/min. The present invention is extensively used in those branches of mechanical engineering in which the surfaces of the parts are protected against the effect of high temperatures, aggressive media, erosion fracture etc., and in particular in aeroplane construction, chemical plant construction, power machine construction, metallurgical machine construction and the like.
