The water level with rotatable bubble level consists of two pivotably mounted arms, about whose axis of rotation a bubble level is also rotatably mounted in such a way that degree scales are always next to the rotatably mounted bubble level. The two arms are made as identical components. Between the bubble level carrier, which forms the axis of rotation, and the arms, a brake is provided which generates higher frictional forces than those occurring between the arm and the bubble level carrier. A further brake is provided between the arms. The bubble level projects laterally over the surface. The arms can be locked in their 180 DEG position. The arms are provided with length-measuring scales. The degree scales are slightly sunk into the surface. The arms and the bubble level carrier are made by injection-moulding or compression-moulding.
