Novel chroman derivatives I where R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 are each H or C1-C4-alkyl, R6 and R7 are each H, C1-C4-alkyl or aryl, m is 1, 2 or 3, and R8 is alkyl or alkenyl of up to 30 carbon atoms, the preparation of these compounds, and their use as stabilizers for organic materials.
