Zusammenfassung:Dichloroacetamide derivs. of formula (I) and their salts are new. (where A is CH2, CO or S; R is 1-6C alkyl; Y is NR1R11, NR1COR1 NR1CONHR11, NR1COOR2, SO2R2 or NO2; R1 and R11 are H or 1-6C alkyl; R1 is (a) 1-12C alkyl opt. substd. by halogen, CN, COOH, CONH2, SMe, OR1, NR1R11 and/or opt. OH-substd. phenyl, or (b) phenyl opt. substd. by halogen, CN, 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C trihaloalkyl, NO2, OR1 and/or NR1R11; R2 is 1-6C alkyl). (I) are antiamoebic agents, e.g. with a MIC of 0.003-0.03 mu g/ml against Entamoeba histolytica and a LD50 of >800 mg/kg (p.o. mouse).
