Zusammenfassung: | Oxidative bleaching of natural waxes with around 1M CrO3 soln. in H2SO4 at 90-200 degrees C under 100 m bar-20 bar, is carried out in a reactor giving a narrow range fo dwell times (pref. a cascaded bubble-column reactor), with the amt. of oxidant required being added wholly at the beginning or in portions during passage through the reactor. Mixing of the reactants is achieved by the steam generated by the heat of reaction and opt. by blowing in an inert gas, and the reaction mixt. finally sepd. by usual methods. Used in treatment of carnabua, candelilla, sugar cane and similar waxes and esp. opt. de-resinated crude montan wax. |
