Moulding of casings for apparatus or furniture components - by deep-drawing blanks of surfaces exposed to view and backing them with integrally moulded-on hard-foam lining

Mfr. of plastics components e.g. casings or furniture comprises moulding the outer contours or surfaces exposed to view, of any given part by heat-shapening a thermoplastics sheet of film and then moulding load-bearing hard foam behand these exposed surfaces. Pref. the exposed surfaces are deep-drawn in known manner and the hard-foam backing is moulded-on in the same forming tool. Depending on the intended use of the moulding, the same may be lined with a noise-reducing or H. F. damping screen.
