Dental instrument holder and working surface unit - has support with swinging arm permitting alternative position of working surface

A combined working surface and instrument holder for a dentist's surgery can be mounted on an overhead arm (4) supported on a wheeled base, and includes a housing (1) with a row of retractable lines for the set of instruments (2). The overhead arm can terminate in a vertical spindle (6) acting as a hinge for a swinging arm (5) supporting an additional working surface (3). This enables the working surface to be swung to a required position either side of the instruments. Alternative designs enable this surface to be raised or lowered alongside the instruments, and to incorporate switches and indicators at various locations. Alternatively the instrument carrier unit can be attached to either side of an intermediate control unit.
