Zusammenfassung:	Polyethylene, or copolymers of ethylene with 1-olefins, with a wide distribution of mol. wt., are obtd. by (co)polymerisation in presence of a catalyst contg. (a) aan organoaluminium cpd. and (b) the reaction prod. of a Ti tetrahalide and/or orthotitanic acid ester and a V oxyhalide and/or a vanadic acid ester, and an organoAl cpd. contg. a =Al-O-Si= gp. The (co)polymers can be extruded, e.g. to hollow goods tubes and profiles. Residual catalyst need not be removed from the polymers. Al trialkyls, aralkyls or cycloalkyls, with 2-8C or isopropenylAl are pref., e.g. trietnhylAl or triisobutylAl. The molar ratio of Ti cpd.:V cpd. is esp. 1:0.1-10. The (oxy)halides are pref. (oxy)chlorides. (M)ethyl, n- or iso-propyl, n- or iso-butyl, phenyl, (cyclo)hexyl, amyl, nonyl or benzyl orthotitanates or vanadates may be used as ester.
