Hydraulic finishing appts. for cutting bearing surfaces - comprises trueing diamond connected to arc-shaped guide via rollers

The hydraulic finishing apparatus has two actuators moves the trueing diamond to and fro past the surface to be ground. The fixture consists of two halves; one half carries the trueing diamond and is connected via an arc shaped guide to the other half which is mounted on a support. The guide between the two halves is formed by 'V' grooves between which rolling elements are mounted. A curved face on the fixed part of the guide is co-axial with the guide. Rollers which are mounted on the moving half are pressed against this curved face. The trueing diamond which is mounted in a holder is connected with a linear guide to the moving part of the fixture. The diamond can be accurately positioned on the linear guide with the aid of a micrometer.
