Zusammenfassung:	Fibrous synthetic leather is mfd from waste chrome-tanned leather. Before the material is ground and unravelled the chrome content is reduced by chemical treatment, and/or it is subjected to chemical modification before, during and/or after grinding etc. The fibres are then used for synthetic leather manufacture, optionally with other leather fibres, esp. those from leathers tanned with vegetable prods, and with additives. The greasy nature of the chrome-tanned waste is modified before it is handled, thus considerably facilitating handling.
