Weft length control - by stud on coupling disc operating with selection disc limits

Designed to deliver a measured length of weft yarn for insertion in a rolling-shed loom, the degree of spindle rotation is determined by the setting of the coupling drive disc which is pre-set by a return spring for its stud to strike a limit stop on the selection disc and allowed to rotate until it reaches a control wedge, the action of the spindle brakes being coordinated with drive rotation. The purpose is to provide an infinite variable setting, when the equipment is in operation and to adjust the length of weft yarn to prevent wastage through surplus at the fabric edges.
