1367278 Hammer mills TONGAAT SUGAR (PTY) Ltd 17 April 1973 [18 April 1972] 18531/ 73 Heading B2A A hammer-mill rotor assembly comprises abutting plates 10, 12 which are preferably star-shaped and recessed at 16, which each have orifices 14 to receive hammer pivots or bars the orifices lying in the same circle with shaft axis as centre, adjacent plates being so arranged that the orifices are staggered. Thus the hammers give continuous axial coverage across the full width of the rotor. The recessed portions 16 on the plate permit the inner ends of hammers rotating on bars or pivots through the orifices of plate 12 to swing freely.
