Strained cycloolefin compounds substituted by phenolic antioxidant and polymers
Compounds (I) of a strained cycloolefin to which phenolic antioxidant (Ant) group(s) are covalently bound by a bridging group containing hetero-atom(s) are new, provided that the bridging group contains no carbonyl (C(=O)) group linked to the Ant group. Also claimed are: (i) new metathesis polymers...

Zusammenfassung: | Compounds (I) of a strained cycloolefin to which phenolic antioxidant (Ant) group(s) are covalently bound by a bridging group containing hetero-atom(s) are new, provided that the bridging group contains no carbonyl (C(=O)) group linked to the Ant group. Also claimed are: (i) new metathesis polymers (II) of strained cycloolefin(s) and optionally comonomer(s), to which Ant group(s) are covalently bound directly or by a bridging group, provided that: (a) homopolymers of 5-(3,5-di-tert.-butyl-4-hydroxybenzoyl)oxymethyl-2-norbornene and copolymers of this monomer with 2-norbornene are excluded; and (b) a copolymer contains not less than 25 wt.% strained cycloolefin with bound Ant groups if the bridging group is -CH= or 1-8C alkylene and the strained cycloolefin is 2-norbornene-5-yl; and (ii) compositions containing organic material(s) (III) sensitive to thermal, oxidative and/or light-induced (actinic) decomposition and at least stabilising amounts of (II). |
