Fly-jib mounting on telescopic crane-jib

The fly-jib (2) is in latticework sections assembled together, its foot being mounted directly, together with one or more supporting gantries (6,7), on the main jib (3) or via an adaptor on the head (5) of the innermost main-jib section. The fly-jib foot is of tapering cross-section. The same gantries are used on the tension side both for a fixed-position fly-jib and a derricking jib. One gantry end can be coupled to the main-jib head and the other to the fly-jib foot-section. The latter can have a head-section (10) stiffened by tie rods and onto which a connecting section (11) joins. The latter section can be of tapering height and width.
