The metal sheet, the intermediate layer and the uppermost (1') layer of the support panel are chamfered (4) on at least one of the edges of the work top. At least one straight edge of the work top is bevelled. At least one edge of the metal sheet is double or reinforced and rests in a matching cavity in the support panel.
