1321874 Scouring powder HENKEL & CIE GmbH 30 Sept 1970 [1 Oct 1969] 46459/70 Headings C4V and C5D A scouring powder comprises a major amount of a water-insoluble compound having a mechanical cleaning action and a minor amount of a water-soluble component including a percompound and an organic activator. The organic activator may be an N-acyl or O-acyl compound or a carbonic acid or pyrocarbonic acid ester. The composition may also include a builder, a surface active agent, an organic complexing agent, dirt carriers, antimicrobial substances, skin protecting substances, superfatting substances, corrosion inhibitors, enzymes, dyes and/or perfumes. In examples the following ingredients are specified: mechanical cleaners: quartz flour, marble dust, or pumice flour; per-compounds: sodium perborate; activators: tetra-acetyl methylene diamine, 1 ,3-diethoxycarbonyl hydantoin, 1,3-di-propionyl hydantoin, benzoic anhydride, triacetyl cyanuric acid, N-acetyl maleic hydrazide, 1,4-diformyl- 2,3,5,6 - tetra - acetoxy - piperazine and glucose penta-acetate; builders: pyrophosphate, borax, orthophosphate, bicarbonate, soda, triphosphate and sodium sulphate; and surface active agents: an alkylbenzene sulphonate salt of an alkylbenzene sulphonic acid in which the alkyl group is a C 10 _ 15 group derived by condensing linear olefins with benzene and sulphonating the product, oleic alcohol condensed with 10 moles of ethylene oxide, sulphated coconut oil, a fatty alcohol sulphate produced by adding 2 moles of ethylene oxide to a fatty alcohol and sulphating the product, coconut fatty acid diethanolamide, C 12 _ 18 fatty acid soap, C 12 _ 16 alkane sulphonate, triethenoxylated nonylphenol sulphate and an olefin sulphonate prepared by sulphonation with SO 3 of a mixture of C 12 _ 18 linear terminal olefins and non-terminal olefins.
