description | 1,223,546. Refrigerating. G.U.E. ZIMMERMANN. 9 July, 1969 [15 July, 1968], No. 34502/69. Heading F4H. A periodically operating absorption refrigeration system comprises two or more absorber units which are so controllable by a central control system in cyclic succession that at least one absorber unit is in use whilst another is regenerated and wherein a group of the units have switching members associated therewith for setting valve positions to achieve a cyclic refrigerating operation of the units, or a refrigerating operation performed by all the units or a regenerating operation performed by all the units in a group. Each unit comprises an absorber 1A, 1B, 1C, having a heater (not shown), a collector vessel 2A, 2B, 2C which communicates with condensers 4A, 4B, 4C through solenoid valves 3A, 3B, 3C and with a common distributer 6 through a valve 5A, 5B,5C and an injection valve 7 interposed between the distributer and an evaporator 8 which has a heat exchanger therein and which is connected with the absorbers through valves 9A, 9B, 9C. A manually operated shut-off valve 25 closes all the conduits behind the valves 5 and a circuit box 10 controls all the solenoid valves and heating elements in the absorbers. A manually operated control for the system and an electrical circuit therefor is described with reference to Figs. 2 and 3 and the valves are so actuated on occurrence of power failure that they assume the refrigeration position for the adsorber units. |
