Zusammenfassung:Furnace carbon black is ball-milled. The acidic black (pH = 4.5) is treated with 2,2,4,4, 6,6 - hexa - (2 - methyl - 1 -aziridinyl)2,4,6-triphospha-1,3,5-triazine in various concentrations (0.2-1.0 gm. per 20 gms. of black) in a solution in toluene. About 95% of the triazine is taken up.ALSO:Mixtures of a natural or synthetic rubber (including ethylene/propylene copolymers) and an acidic carbon black are cured by a mixture of an organic peroxide and an aziridinyl compound of one of the formulae: and wherein R is a 1-aziridinyl group, hydrogen or an alkyl, aryl, aralkyl or alkaryl group containing 1 to 12C atoms and at least 2 of the R groups are aziridinyl groups and X is either oxygen or sulphur. The carbon black may be a channel black or a furnace black that has been ball milled, ozonized or treated with nitric acid. Long lists of peroxides and aziridinyl compounds are given.
