Mounted inside the inner shell and spaced from the walls is a tube 67 of rectangular cross-section in communication with a water-supply pipe 91 passing through the end walls 64, 43 of the inner and outer shells, apertures in the tube permitting water to pass into the inner shell and thence through the slot 75 into the outer shell. A U-shaped baffle 52 is mounted in the outer shell outside the wall of the inner shell and extends from the base to the height of the flat section 40 of the top and communicates with the outlet pipe 92. A film-forming material is sprayed on to the hot glass before it reaches the deflecting roller from a perforated tube 101 in the wall 37. |
