Zusammenfassung:An acrylate copolymer contact adhesive composition, especially for production of contact adhesive strips and bands comprising the monomer components A, B, and C:A = monomers selected from: 1-10C alkyl (meth)acrylate, B = monomers selected from an ester of OH-group free (meth)acrylic acid and a polyethylene glycol derivative, and C = a mixture of at least two vinyl compounds having free carbonyl and free carboxyl groups, and groups with one or more active hydrogen atoms is new An acrylate copolymer for use in contact adhesive compositions, especially suitable for adhesive bonding of low energy surfaces comprising the monomer components (wt.%):A, B, and C:A = one or more monomers selected from: 1-10C alkyl (meth)acrylate (60-95), B = one or more monomers selected from:an ester of OH-group free (meth)acrylic acid and a polyethylene glycol derivative, e.g. with 2-4 ethylene glycol units (5-15), and C = a mixture of at least two vinyl compounds selected from vinyl compounds having one or more of the functional groups:free carbonyl, free carboxyl groups, and groups with one or more active hydrogen atoms (1-35). Independent claims are is included for: (1) a contact adhesive composition for adhesive bonding of low energy surfaces and containing one or more acrylate copolymers (e) as above; (2) a process in which the copolymer is dissolved or dispersed in a solvent or solvent mixture, where the solvent is selected from:aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohol, ketone, aldehyde, esters, e.g. ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, ethers, and aromatic solvents, e.g. toluene, xylene, and also cyclohexane, acetone, especially ethyl acetate.
