The Invention relates to an an apparatus for light intensity adjustment (500, 700) mountable on an automotive camera (519), comprising: at least one first linear polarizing filter (501, 701), at least one second linear polarizing filter (503, 703), the first linear polarizing filter (501, 701) and the second polarizing filter (503, 703) are arrangeable in front of a lens unit (509) of an automotive camera (519) such that incident light passes through the at least one first linear polarizing filter (501, 701) and the at least one second linear polarizing filter (503, 703) before entering the lens unit (509) of the automotive camera (519), and at least one actuator (511, 711) for moving the at least one first linear polarizing filter (501, 701) and/or the at least one second linear polarizing filter (503, 703) with respect to each other such that the intensity of the emergent light is adjustable. Tha apparatus is characterized in enabling adjustment of the emergent light intensity by moving the first linear polarizing filter (501,701) and/or the second linear polarizing filter (503, 703) with respect to each other is coupled to a frame rate of an image sensor of the an automotive camera (519) by the actuator (511, 711), in particular such that the integration time of the sensor is maintained at the maximum. |
