Zusammenfassung:The method involves controlling and positioning the safety devices (2) in an active position depending on a collision, particularly a lateral collision, that is imminent to the vehicle (1) and is determined by detected signals (S) of environmental detection and a current vehicle position (P). The vehicle condition data (F) detected by a vehicle condition detection is considered during the determination of the imminent collision. A road category, on which the vehicle is currently located, is determined as the vehicle position. An independent claim is included for a device for controlling active- and passive safety devices of a vehicle. Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Ansteuerung von aktiven und/oder passiven Sicherheitseinrichtungen (2) eines Fahrzeuges (1), wobei die Sicherheitseinrichtungen (2) erfindungsgemäß in Abhängigkeit einer mittels erfasster Signale (S) einer Umgebungserfassung und einer momentanen Fahrzeugposition (F) ermittelten dem Fahrzeug (1) bevorstehenden Kollision, insbesondere Seitenkollision, angesteuert und in eine Wirkstellung positioniert werden.
