The communication system (1) has a processor device (4) formed as a head-unit, where the processor device is connected both with the output unit (2) e.g. display and with an operating unit (3) in a communicating manner. An interface (7) e.g. head unit interface, is provided between the processor device and the output unit, where external communication devices (8) are connected to the communication system by the interface. The interface is controllable by a control unit. Erfindungsgemäß ist zwischen der Rechnereinrichtung (4) und der Ausgabeeinheit (2) eine als Head-unit-interface ausgebildete Schnittstelle (7) vorgesehen, über die externe Kommunikationsgeräte (8) an das Kommunikationssystem (1) anschließbar sind.
