The imaging system has a retaining unit (4) for producing a sectional image of a body region of a patient, where the retaining unit has a central opening (8) for introduction of a patient bearing table (10). A solenoid coil is arranged in the retainer unit, where a coil axis of the coil runs parallel to a center axis (14) of the opening.
