Open cells are created in the foam layers using a perforation tool with a diameter of 0.2-2mm, preferably 0.5-1.5mm. Perforation density is 5-20, preferably 8-12 per sq cm. In a preferred construction one layer is perforated and the other remains unperforated. Perforated layers are 4-10mm, preferably 6-8mm, thick. Non-perforated layer thickness is 2-7mm, preferably 4-6mm. Foam layers may be laid on top of each other with one layer offset from the other so that stepped edges are created for creating joints without increasing thickness. The stepped edge breadth can be 2-15cm, preferably 5-7cm.
