In the present invention, there is disclosed a process for preparing 2-[4-[(methylamino)carbonyl]-1-H-pyrazol-1-yl]adenosine monohydrate of the general formula I by reacting 2-(4-methoxycarbonyl pyrazol-1-yl)adenosine of the general formula III with a methylamine solution in a nonaqueous solvent optionally in combination with another inert solvent to obtain anhydrous 2-[4-[(methylamino)carbonyl]-1-H-pyrazol-1-yl]adenosine, which is then converted by the addition of water to 2-[4-[(methylamino)carbonyl]-1-H-pyrazol-1-yl]adenosine monohydrate of the general formula I. |
