Metoda je zvl t vhodn pro izolaci m di, pro separaci kobaltu a niklu a pro izolaci a rafinaci palladia.\ Metal ions are extracted from aqueous solutions having pH value within the range of 3.5 to 8.5 into organic solvents by making use of N-[2-hydroxyimino-2-(pyridin-2-yl)ethyl]trialkyl ammonium salts of the general formula III, and/or bivalent N-[2-hydroxyimino-2-(pyridinium-2-yl)ethyl]trialkyl ammonium salts of the general formula IV, wherein Re1, Re2 and Re3 in the -Ne+Re1Re2Re3 trialkyl ammonium group represent hydrocarbon radical containing 1 to 20 carbon atoms and having either linear or branched alkyl chain or a cycloalkyl group or an arylalkyl group or alkylaryl group. Metal ions are isolated back from the organic solutions by extraction into strong acid aqueous solutions having pH value less than 2. The invented process is particularly suitable for isolation of copper, for separation of cobalt and nickel as well as for isolation and refining of palladium.
