The gantry type stock cutter with the automatic feeding function comprises a connecting frame, a first driving motor is arranged on the outer side of the connecting frame, a conveying belt is arranged in the connecting frame, the output end of the first driving motor is connected with one belt pulley in the conveying belt, and the output end of the first driving motor is connected with the other belt pulley in the conveying belt. A portal frame is fixedly connected to the outer side of the connecting frame, and a second driving motor is arranged at one end of the upper portion of the portal frame. Materials can be automatically conveyed by arranging the connecting frame, the conveying belt and the first driving motor, meanwhile, the portal frame, the second driving motor and the lead screw are arranged to drive the threaded block and the slitting assembly to transversely move, and therefore different positions of the materials can be slit; and in the slitting process, the materials can be limited and clamped
