Zusammenfassung:	Provided are a novel traffic sign and a traffic warning system. The traffic sign comprises a sign plate and a warning light, wherein the sign plate further comprises a character sign area and a speed limiting sign area, and the character sign area and the speed limiting sign area are formed by assembling active light emitting devices and used for displaying character information and speed limiting information respectively. The traffic warning system comprises the traffic sign, a controller and a sensor, wherein the sensor is in communication connection with the controller, and the controller determines work modes of the traffic warning system according to detection results of the sensor.
