The invention discloses a digital video recording device which can be prompted by voice and controlled by telephone, a relative telephone control unit and its method. Said digital video recording device comprises a digital storage unit, a control unit and a audio video encoding/decoding module which is controlled to encode/decode the signal or data of the receiving board or said digital storage unit to be transmitted to said digital storage unit for storing or the A/V output unit be processed and output; in addition, the invention also comprises a telephone control device which comprises a ring detecting circuit, a off-hook/ring-off circuit, a decoding unit and a voice circuit. When the device is telephoned, said off-hook/ring-off circuit is controlled for off-hook to make the voice circuit connect the telephone line for displaying the prompting sound to the user while the remote-control information via the telephone line sent from the user can be transmitted to the control unit via the decoding unit to produce relative operations or orders. The system which uses said video recording device and the network which can build the remote calling telephone, can apply the user using the voice answer to remotely control the operational condition of video recording. The invention has lower cost and better commercial value.
